New bat standards for 2018 season

BBCOR .50 is allowed

Effective Jan. 1, 2018, numerous youth divisions of baseball -- including Little League and Babe Ruth -- are adopting the USA Bat standard for wood composite bats. There are numerous reasons for this and they can be found online by doing a simple search for "USA Bat standards."

The impact on Babe Ruth: You will either need to already own a BBCOR .50 bat or purchase one OR buy a new wood composite bat with the USA Bat stamp on it.

Your ballplayer will no longer be able to use aluminum or a regular composite bat. The diameter must be 2 5/8" or smaller.

For our Fall league your son will be able to use the same bat he used this past season.
